I was hoping my first post would be much different. I can't say much that hasn't already been said. My city was dealt a devastating blow. People are hurt and people are dead. That is tragic. More than just a bridge collapsed yesterday. Today a new bridge is being built. However, this is not a bridge that allows travel from one side of the river to the other. This is a bridge constructed of emotional strength and stability; enabling the free passage of human affection and facilitation. The overwhelming amount of folks reaching out and showing concern for me and my city has turned my tears of sorrow into tears of happiness. Happiness because so many people care. What I'm trying to say is...thank you. Thank you friends. Thank you family. Thank you Minnesota. And thank you Minneapolis. All of me goes out to all of you affected by this terrible event. I love you. You, me, us...WE will make it through this. A bridge collapsed. Our hearts will not. Not today.
