Dear BikeNewBlack, Give A Man Enough Rope and He Will Hang Himself

Dear BikeNewBlack,
You know that cliche' saying “we both want the same things out of life.” What’s up with that? Like, what does it even mean to want something out of life??? That’s like the stupidest cliche' saying ever. Don’t ya think?
-Overanalyticalasshole

Dear Oaa,
Boy howdy! You can say that again. Truer words have never been spoken.

I find it humorous that in your question about stupid cliche' sayings you used another (not so stupid) cliche': the something-is-the-"stupidest ever" cliche'. (side note: I once heard the statement "Tomato soup; the stupidest soup ever!" It's funny because when you think about it, tomato soup is pretty stupid. {French Onion could probably give it a run for it's money though.})

There are some stupid cliche' sayings that really chap my hide too. However, you gotta keep things in perspective. Before you get your panties in a wad, take a moment to reflect. At the end of the day, stupid cliche' sayings are nothing worth getting madder than a wet hen about. In other words, at the eleventh hour there's no need to get bent out of shape over it.

Sorry, I know I got off the beaten path here. What I'm trying to say is don't let it get under your skin or you'll get wound up tighter than a spring. In the grand scheme of life, stupid cliche' sayings are just a blip on the radar. And, lest you forget, you can't put toothpaste back in the tube.
Sincerely,
-BNB

  6. You're a lot funnier when you're not intending to be. Not that this wasn't funny. It just has a hint of trying-too-hard to it.

  8. Yes, please tell us your thoughts on life. While you're at it how about the afterlife? Religion? Death Penalty? Abortion? War on drugs? Jesus, what is this 9th grade social studies? Spare me.
