I'm in the infancy stages of putting together the next issue of Soda Killers. I'll have an interview with a prominent twin cities graffiti artist and maybe a chunk of reviews, but that's it so far. One of the main criticisms I've received from the last issue is that (other than my brother's photos) all of the content was done by me. I agree it was maybe a little too per-zine-y. This is where you come in.
Soda Killers is primarily a punk, rap, and graffiti zine, but as some of you know there's also a healthy dose of other stuff. I'm always looking for people to share their stories about (IBNLT) punk, rap, graffiti, music, art, metal, youth, hardcore, wrestling, hoops, film, crime, general mischief, etc. About all I shy away from is politics...and video games...oh, and poetry, haha. Just kidding. Sort of. I mean, I wouldn't be hurt if there was no poetry. Definitely no poetry about politics. Poetry about video games, eh, maybe.
And I'm not only looking for written pieces. Photos, original art, etc. are cool too.
Soda Killers is DIY as fuck; all done on my dime and my time. Labor-wise I do every single part of it myself, from the layout to photocopying to the actual assemblage. Nobody's hands touch it but me until it ends up with the reader. I've never charged any money for it (this may change sadly,) so I can't offer much in the way of payment. Maybe a ten dollar bill (or 20 depending) and a handful of copies. If that works, and it sounds like something you'd be into, please let me know and we'll start talking ideas. Anything and everything (except poetry) helps.
(Nice guy in real life, although I play an asshole on the Internet.)
